The Stroud Lady Tigers and Pott County powers North Rock and Dale made it to the slow-pitch state tournament at Hall of Fame Stadium Tuesday.

The tournaments were still going on when we had to send the Lincoln County News to the press Tuesday night.

We will have complete results and photos in next week’s edition.

North Rock Creek, ranked No. 1, made it to the Class 5A tournament and survived a scare in the opening round, needing a three-run homer by Haley Hacker in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Perkins-Tryon, 10-9.

The Lady Cougars came back to face No. 2 Tecumseh in the second round and suffered a 13-7 loss. They finished the season with a 33-9 record.

Dale breezed through its regional, beating Hinton, 11-6, and Coalgate, 14-3, and entered the Class 4A state tournament ranked No. 1.

The beat Stroud, 14-1, in the opening round and were set to face either Preston or ancient rival Latta in the semifinals.

Stroud qualified for state by sandwiching a pair of wins over Tishomingo around a loss to Silo in the regional.

The Lady Tigers clipped Tish, 11-4, before falling, 13-1 to Silo. They came back to trump Tish again, 15-3, to earn the berth at state.

They finished the season with a 29-10 record.
