Cross country: Randall, Coody win again

Meeker’s Riley Randall and North Rock Creek’s Jordan Coody ran to wins at cross country meets Saturday.

The defending class 3A state champion, Randall clocked 16:39.10 to win the 2A-3A-4A division at the Oklahoma Baptist University meet, which was held at Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee.

He finished 29 seconds better than Ryan McLaughlin of Hardin Charter, who was in second place.

It was Randall’s second straight 5K win, following his championship at Meeker’s Bulldog Invitational the previous week.

Coody competed with the Cougars at the East Central University meet in Ada and finished the 5K course in 17:41.22.

That was more than a minute better than second-place Ethan Lollman from Plainview.

North Rock Creek was back in action Tuesday at the North Canadian River Conference meet, which at the Cougars’ home course.

They host their own Heartland Championship meet Saturday.

Meeker is back in action Saturday at the Cowboy Jamboree at Oklahoma State University.
