Addams Family musical

Chandler High School will present the “The Addams Family,” a new musical comedy March 4 through 6. Performances are 7 p.m. March 4 and 5 and 2 p.m. on March 6 at the LaChrica Jonies Theater and Jana Telford Music Hall. Ticket are $10 for adult and $5 for students.

Hearings set in caretaker case

Pre-preliminary hearings for two people from Prague charged with felony abuse by caretaker have been set for different times and dates. They were allegedly abusing a woman who had entrusted one of them to look after her animals.

Lions Pancakes

The Chandler Lions will have a pancake dinner fundraiser February 28th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the American Legion Hut in Tilghman park. The cost is $7 per person. Proceeds from the pancake dinner will be used for Chandler Lions scholarships.

County Commissioners

Lincoln County commissioners this week approved bridge design contracts for District 1 and District 2 and also approved Crosstown Beam transfer forms. They also discussed but took no action on the County Improvement Road and Bridge Project Allocation Plan for SFY 2022 and the SFY2023-2028 Draft.

Warrant issued in Prague rape case

A $50,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of an Okemah man who allegedly raped a woman that was approximately 20 weeks pregnant at the time. Dustin Ardell Cruce, 38, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Feb.

Lions of the month announced

Chandler High School seniors Easton Cummings and Presley Martzall have been named February Lions of the Month by the Lion’s Club. Easton Cummings, the son of J.R. and Angela Cummings, has maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout his high school years.

White Rock Spelling Bee

White Rock Spelling Bee winner, Brylee Harris, first runner-up, Olivia Gomez, and second runner up, Erica Bush. Brylee Harris has advanced to the next level.

Charges filed after collision

A motorist faces a felony and two misdemeanors after he was arrested following a collision on SH 99 in Lincoln County. Jose Castellanos Figueroa, 40, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court recently with driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, a felony.

Wellston FFA members candidates for office

Taylor McConnell, left, and Haleigh Ohl, right, are candidates for state FFA offices. McConnell is running for Central Area vice president and Ohl is candidate for state reporter. Both are members of Wellston FFA.

Felony charge

A Wellston man faces a felony charge after he reportedly choked his wife and struck her with his fist, causing her to have to go to a hospital. A charge of Domestic Assault and Battery by Strangulation was formally filed Feb. 15 in Lincoln County District Court against Kalib Thomas Wise, 28.
