Pott, Lincoln county livestock shows

The Lincoln County Junior Livestock Show is finishing up today and Friday and the Pottawatomie County Junior Livestock Show begins next Tuesday. The Lincoln County show is at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Chandler. The beef show begins at 1 p.m.

Mistrial in manslaughter crash

A mistrial has been declared in a case which a woman was charged with first degree manslaughter and multiple other felony offenses.

Wellston to host Legislative Breakfast

The Wellston Area Chamber of Commerce will host the first local Legislative Breakfast of the year, 8-9 a.m., Friday, Feb. 25, at the Wellston Senior Nutrition Center, 206 Cedar. Breakfast will be available to purchase.

A couple of weeks ago this area lost a well-respected retired member of the journalism community. Virginia Bradshaw passed away on Feb. 9 at her home. She was 92 years old. She had played a role in my entering into the world of journalism and played a role in my landing my first newspaper job.
