Stroud man dies in crash

A Stroud man died in a two-vehicle, head-on collision south of Crescent in Logan County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. State Trooper Michael Wallace of the Traffic Homicide Unit identified the Stroud man as Kim L. Flatt, 32.

Meeker: 1-2 at Stroud

Braxton Bussell and Riley Randall put an exclamation point on the season-opening cross country meet at Stroud Saturday. The Meeker juniors finished first and second, with Bussell running ahead the entire race and winning the hardware with a time of 10:43.

The Chandler and North Rock Creek fast-pitch teams put their youth on display and rolled to tournament championships last week.

Alpha Iota meets

The Alpha Iota Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International met Thursday, July 15, at Manvel Avenue Coffee Co. in Chandler. President, Kim Leatherwood, conducted the meeting to plan programs and activities for the 2021-2022 year.

Carl Ellis Hodge of Stroud was born February 10, 1937, in Turley, Okla. He died Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the age of 84 years. Hodge, the son of Clyde Harlan and Georgia May (Smiley) Hodge, married Helen Carr in 1955. A graduate of Bristow High School, Bristow, Okla., he worked as a mechanic.

Longtime Stroud resident Judy Trout was born August 8, 1941, in Cushing, Okla. She died Monday, August 9, 2021, at the age of 80 years. Trout, the daughter of LeRoy and Margurite (Blair) Hayter, married Bob Trout on November 29, 1972, and settled in Stroud.
