Frankie Humphrey Sr. was born March 13, 1938 in Davenport, Okla. He was the sixth of eight children born to Daniel Sr. and Awildia (McArther) Humphrey. He was called home on August 1, 2021, after 83 years of life.

Felony charges filed for Stroud woman

A Stroud woman faces two felony counts following her arrest recently by a Lincoln County deputy sheriff. Formal charges were filed July 26 in Lincoln County District Court against Kayla Dawn Butler, 31.

Bond reduced in murder case

The bond for a Wellston man charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of a 21-year-old Lincoln County resident has been reduced, court records show. First degree murder charges were formally filed in Lincoln County District Court on July 13 against Freddie Antonie Seamster, 38.

Prague Library’s top readers

Librarians at Haynie Public Library in Prague announced the winners in their Summer Reading Program. The readers turned in a total of 122,057 pages read. All participants received prizes. Forest Bland was the grand prizewinner in the Elementary Reader age group. He received a 40” Saucer Tree Swing.

Chandler Chamber of Commerce meeting

The monthly Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be 12 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Route 66 Interpretive Center. The caterer will be Big Willy’s. A representative from the Lincoln County Health Department will update attendees on the health of Chandler and Lincoln County.
