The Chandler School Board this week approved the Estimate of Needs and the financial statements for Fiscal Year 2021-2022.
School Supt. Melody Toma said the General Fund totals $11,161,350.95.
The building fund totals $757,685.60 and total of the Child Nutrition Fund is $607,239.17, she stated.
Total of the sinking fund is $749,050, she advised.
Toma said no one spoke during the public hearing on financial matters including past and future expenditures of the district and the 2021-2022 budget.
During the public comments portion of the meeting, Toma said Richard Hunt, a school patron, spoke out against Chandler’s bus mask mandate.
Following an executive session, the board voted to hire Chelsea Whilhite as a para Professional.
In other business, the board:
Authorized paying the FY22 allocation of alternative education funds to the local education agency, Stroud Schools, for the alternative education cooperative.
Discussed using the ACT as Chandler’s nationally recognized assessment for the Collage and Career Readiness Assessment (CCRA), Toma said.
Approved the encumbrance for substitute teachers and for certified contracts and support employees who have contracts starting in September of 2021.
Approved the gifted and talented local advisory committee for FY 21 including Gina McVey, Pam Anderson, Kelli Robbins and Ann Taylor.
Approved the list of High School library books as surplus.
Approved the completed Chandler Public Schools Board policies after the completed review from the OSSBA attorney.
