Book sale and summer programs at Stroud Library

Stroud Friends of the Library will host a book sale May 28-29 to benefit Stroud Public Library. Most books are 3 for $1.

These dates coincide with the annual Stroud High School Alumni weekend. A local history collection exhibit of pictures featuring the classes of 1921, 1971 and 1976 will also be on view. Along with the pictures, yearbooks from 1961, 1966, 1971, 1976 and 1981 will be on display.

This year’s national Summer Reading Program theme is “Tails and Tales!” Stroud Library will participate virtually again. Register K-5th graders by June 1 for packs of craft supplies, activities, snacks and prizes.

Accompanying craft instructions and book readings will become available online each Thursday in June.

The Library is supporting the free 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program with prizes and reading certificates for every 100 books read. You must come to the library and register in order to receive prizes.

Reading just one book to your toddler each night will mean reading 1,095 books in three years. You can repeat favorites. Books must be read before your child begins kindergarten.

Free tickets for the Oklahoma City Zoo are still available, expiring June 30. Come to the library to read “Juniper’s Butterfly Garden” and receive one pass for four people.

The Library received a grant from Federal Library Services and Technology Act and bought two webcams and headsets for public use with library computers and one set for staff.

Call to schedule your virtual meeting as you would with an in-person meeting.
