Agnes Baker

Stroud resident Agnes Baker recently celebrated her 100th birthday and was inducted into the Centenarians of Oklahoma Hall of Fame. Born on Jan. 22, 1924, Agnes has lived in Lincoln County for her entire life, according to Centenarians of Oklahoma. She remembers helping her parents pick cotton, riding to school in a covered wagon, marrying her husband and becoming a mother.

Cole-Snider engagement

John and Cynthia Snider of Chandler are delighted to announce the engagement of their son, Cole Snider, to Heather Maker, daughter of Jana and Alan Cops and Bryan and Chris Maker, of Edmond. Cole is also the grandson of Marjorie and Bob Griffin and Liz and the late Jerry Snider, while Heather is the granddaughter of Wendy and Steve Flowers and Julian and Leonard Maker. Cole is a 2014 graduate of Chandler High School and has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Safety from the University of Central Oklahoma. Heather graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 2017 and has a Bachelor of Science in Business, also from the University of Central Oklahoma. Cole works in safety (HSE) at Flintco Construction, and Heather works in commercial property management.

October student Rotarians announced

Sydney Duncan and Harley Cole have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for October. Sydney Duncan is the daughter of Karen and Jeff Duncan.

Pride gets superior rating at regionals

The Pride of Chandler Marching Band scored all superior ratings at the Northwest Regional Marching Band competition at Enid High School on Oct. 11. They were one of 12 bands to compete in Class 3A, along with two other Lincoln County high schools, Prague and Meeker.

Meeker Quilter’s Guild camp

The Meeker Quilters’ Guild sponsored its 13th annual Summer Quilt Camp in July. This year, the camp honored Etta Busler who was a charter member of the Meeker Quilt Guild and a faithful helper with the camp.

60th Anniversary

Ola Bon and Charlotte Fouquet will celebrate 60 years of marriage this month. Ola Bon, the son of Genese and Dollie Fouquet, graduated from Prague High School and was introduced by a Tinker co-worker to his daughter, Charlotte, who graduated from Verden High School. They were married about a year later, on July 27, 1963.

A Shawnee man facing more than 40 felony charges of sex-related crimes with minors who has pleaded not guilty has been set for the felony pre-trial docket. Danny Ray Weeks, Jr., 52, was originally charged in Pottawatomie County District Court on Dec.
