Congratulations to Coach Gary Higgins on being selected for induction into the Oklahoma Coaches Association’s 2024 Hall of Fame. Higgins is currently a coach in North Rock Creek. He is a graduate of Stroud High School Class of 1966. Gary is married to Sherry Johnson Higgins who is also a Stroud High School graduate. Just another example of the outstanding graduates our school system produces. Gary is loved here in Stroud.

We had the grandson this past weekend and what a privilege and pleasure it is to have him for a couple of days and nights. It had been early January since Liam had stayed with us for a weekend.

This year’s Pottawatomie County Junior Livestock Show at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center continues this morning with the swine show starting at 10 a.m. Suzanne Gilbert, who is chairman of the Pottawatomie County Junior Livestock Show Committee, said an estimated 250 animals are to be judged.

It seems we continue to hear frequently about incidents related to bullying. Some of these have tragic consequences. For those we are made aware of, there are probably thousands upon thousands of them that we know nothing about.

Out-of-state faces drug charges

A case involving an out-of-state driver who is facing two felony drug-related charges has been set for disposition in April. Lin Pi Xing, 51, of New York was formally charged Feb.
