Early voting for the June 28 primary election begins today and area voters in Pottawatomie and Lincoln County may cast ballots at their respective election boards.
Republican voters in both counties may cast ballots in the race for District Attorney.
Incumbent Allan Grubb is being challenged by David Hammer and Tanya Roland.
Voters in both counties also may cast their ballots in the three-person, non-partisan contest for District Judge District 23 Office No. 1. The candidates include Joe Dobry, Chandler; Traci L. Soderstrom, Chandler; and Chad Moody, Wellston.
Current District Judge Cindy Ashwood is retiring after serving 12 years on the bench.
Republican voters in Lincoln County Commissioner District No. 3 will decide between Incumbent Lee Doolen, and challenger David Armitage, also of Meeker. No Democrat filed for that office.
Six Republicans are vying for the Lincoln County Commissioner District No. 1 office now held by Democrat Carl Munson who is retiring.
They include J.R. Duvall, Prague; Mike Snyder, Stroud; Bobby Lee Norton, Davenport; Will Fine, Stroud; Matt Howell, Stroud; and Bob Wilson, Stroud.
Whoever wins the Republican nomination in that race will face the lone Democrat candidate, Earl Glenn, Stroud, in the Nov. 8 General Election.
House District 32 State Rep. Kevin Wallace, of Wellston, a Republican, faces challenger Ryan Dixon, Meeker, in the primary election.
There are four Republicans and two Democrats seeking the State Senate District 28 seat in Tuesday’s primary.
Current State Sen. Zack Taylor is not seeking another term.
The Republican candidates include Jeff McCommas, Agra; Jamey Mullin Arcadia; Grant Green, Chandler; and Robert W. Trimble, Seminole.
The Democrats are Tony Wilson, Chandler, and Karen Rackley, Chandler.
Democrat and Republican voters in several precincts in Pottawatomie County also will cast ballots in the State Senate District 28 contests.
Voters, Democrats and Republicans, also will be voting on candidates for a number of state and federal contests.
Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh said that early voting is open to all voters.
Voters may go to the County Election Board located at 811 Manvel Avenue in Chandler in the County Courthouse between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. today (Thursday) and Friday, June 23 and 24 and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to cast their ballots.

Voters may cast their ballots between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. today (Thursday) and Friday, June 23 and 24 and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Tuesday, June 28, all voters in both counties must go to their respective precincts to cast their ballots.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.
