The Oklahoma State Election Board will be sending address confirmation notices to some registered voters, a press release from the board said on April. 28. The notices are required by state law to confirm if identified voters still reside at the address on file.
The press release stated that voters have 60 days to respond after receiving the confirmation notice. If they do not, they will be designated as “inactive” and removed from the voter rolls after the 2028 General Election. Voters can avoid removal and being designated “inactive” by updating their voter registration or voting in any election on or before the 2028 General Election.
“It takes just a couple of minutes to confirm or update your registration. The easiest way to respond is online through the OK Voter Portal. You can also fill out the card and mail it back to us – postage paid,” said State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax.
Those who might receive a notice include voters who have had a first-class mailing returned as “undeliverable,” those with a possible duplicate registration in Oklahoma or another state, or those who haven’t voted or updated registration through the 2022 and 2024 General Election cycles.
