Chandler man faces 2 felonies involving acts with minor

A Chandler man facing two felonies related to minors following his arrest recently by Lincoln County deputies has waived his preliminary hearing and his arraignment is set.

Lucarious Dewayne Martinez, 22, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court Dec. 10, 2024 with soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology and lewd or indecent acts to a child.

Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk set his bond at $25,000. She ordered the defendant to have no contact with the victim as a condition of the bond.

Martinez made his initial appearance on Dee. 16. Judge Kirk had set his pre-preliminary hearing for 9 a.m. Feb. 27. 2025. On that date, he waived his preliminary hearing and his arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. Apr. 15, 2025.

Count 1 accuses Martinez of between Oct. 27, 2024 and Nov. 13, 2024 of committing the crime of engaging in unlawful communication for sexual interest by use of technology by facilitating, encouraging, offering, soliciting sexual conduct and/or sending messages through SnapChat and/or the Fortnite video game for sexual or prurient interest to a 12-year-old in Lincoln County.

In count 2, he charged between that same time frame of committing the crime of indecent acts with a child while Martinez was three years of age older than the victim in Lincoln County.
