The Davenport City Council voted to restore pay to the police chief at its regular meeting on Feb. 17 at Town Hall.
Not only did the Council vote to restore pay, but it also restored pay dates to the 1st and 15th of every month and granted the chief back pay for six months at $953.33 a month, $476.66 bi monthly.
The Council also approved the removal of interim City Manager Brandon Stancell from the BancFirst accounts and having the treasurer and/or mayor sign for loans. Stancell was not present at the meeting.
The Council approved a payment of $15,900 for the Norman Weather System to be taken from either the Capital Improvement or the General Fund account. They also awarded a bid to mow the cemetery to Mike Jenkins after discussion.
They did not approve installing speed bumps or signs to Sante Fe Road. After a discussion between the Council and Davenport Police Department, it was determined that there’s no need to lower the speed limit on the road from 25 to 15.
Other approvals include the farmers market resolution, a workplace wellness resolution, and moving forward with AMR taking over collection of old accounts.
They also approved the Municipal Road Drilling Activity Fund award and allowing the high school to set ou fireworks in April for Senior Night.
At the Davenport Utility Authority meeting that took place right after the regular meeting, Utility Works Director Mike Price said his department needed a Scada System.
