Kline elected state FFA president

Last Week North Rock Graduate Cooper Kline was elected Oklahoma FFA President.

Kline graduated from North Rock Creek in 2024 and now attends Oklahoma State University as a sophomore majoring in Ag Education with a minor in lobbying and campaign management. After two days of speeches and elections against 6 other candidates, including a runoff election, Kilne was chosen to represent all 29,500 members of Oklahoma FFA.

“Frankly I think I was overcome with joy in that moment,” Said Kline. “I’m not one to cry but I definitely shed a tear or two.” He added.

This will be Kline’s second year on the Oklahoma Future Farmers of America leadership team. He served last year as the state secretary.

“Getting the chance to do this again is an amazing experience, and I love getting to prepare others for their career success.” Said Kline.

FFA is a nationwide organization, known for their iconic blue corduroy jackets, their mission statement is “to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.”

“It is one of, if not the best, youth organizations you can put your children in. It’s life changing. It has something for everyone, lots of career development options.” Said Kline. “You really become a more employable adult,” he added.

Oklahoma FFA is the 6th largest FFA organization in the country and the second largest by chapter numbers. “Right now we have north of 29,500 members.” Said Kline. “I’d like to see us break 30,000 this year.” He added.

FFA starts in the 8th grade, and runs until high school graduation. “Your only promised 5 years in that jacket, so to get more time was truly a blessing.” Said Kline.

As president Kline wants to mentor his leadership team into an active and engaged unit, taking every chance they get to make a difference and inspire others.

Kline Hopes to be a teacher one day. “Being able to teach and make an impact in a students life is something I don’t think is valued enough and I plan on making that difference in a kid’s life.” Said Kline. “I plan on teaching for a very long time, or as long as the lord wants.” He added.

Kline attended Chandler schools through 7th grade before transferring to North Rock Creek; he was drawn to North Rock Creek schools by the promise of the school’s new Ag program. A lifelong family-friend of the Ag advisor Kline took a chance on his mentor, North Rock Creek, and FFA. Quickly becoming very involved, Kline was chosen to give the graduation speech at his graduation; North Rock Creek High School’s third graduation. He hoping to inspire other students and remind them to “Don’t be places where your value isn’t acknowledged,” Kline still lives in south Chandler. “It will always be home, I’m still very close to that place,” he said.
