Meeker board of education meeting

Meeker Board of Education members this week accepted the resignations of two personnel and hired an adjunct teacher along with approving the date and place for high school graduation.

Without going into executive session, the board members hired Jerri Loveland as an adjunct teacher for English 1, III and IV. They also accepted the resignations for Athena Farrell, high school/middle school teacher and Macey Pittman, elementary school paraprofessional.

Board members approved high school graduation for May 16, 2025 at Camp Cargill.

The also approved board meeting dates for 2025.

Elementary Principal Sarah Flowers informed the board members the Veterans Day program on Monday of this week was “a great success,” noting, “the kids were fantastic and the crowd was large” She said enrollment stands at 331.

High School Principal Brad Buxton reported enrollment is at 243 students and “I have a couple of more applications on my desk wanting to transfer into our district. He said high school football ended last Friday.

Middle school Matt Jones advised the board enrollment is at 204 students. “I have two requests on my desk and had three other calls today about transfers in ,” he said.

Jones said the first high school basketball game is on Nov. 22.

School Supt. Jeff Pruitt in his report advised board members a couple of air conditioning units have been replaced and “there are some small concrete areas we are trying to get done.”
