Motion continued

A motion to revoke has been continued against a Shawnee man who earlier pleaded guilty and was handed a suspended sentence.

Jonathon Lee Nice, 36, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court with child abuse on Sep. 22, 2023.

Nice was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 19, 2024 with more two counts of child abuse.

Appearing before Judge Bridge in the 2024 case, on the state’s recommendation as the result of a plea bargain Nice withdrew his previous plea and pleaded guilty to two counts of child abuse.

He is to pay 991 fees, perform 24 hours of Community Service, and to have no contact with the victim except what is allowed in the custody case. She placed him on Supervised Probation with Oklahoma Court Services. He is to report to the Probation Ovce and the Court Clerk's Ovce.

The plea was received and Judge Bridge found Nice guilty as charged. She sentenced him on Count 1 to seven years in DOC with all time suspended, a $500 fee, $50 VCA and court costs.

On Count 2, she sentenced him to seven years in DOC with all time suspended, $500 fine, $50 VCA and court costs and ordered the sentences to run concurrent with each other with the 2023 child abuse sentence, pay 991 fees, perform 24 hours of Community Service, and he is to have no contact with the victim except what is allowed in the custody case.

Judge Bridge placed him on Supervised Probation with Oklahoma Court Services, and ordered him to repot to the Probation Ovce and Court Clerk's Ovce.

Nice, appearing before Judge Bridge in the 2023 case, as the result of a plea bargain on the state’s recommendation withdrew his previous plea and pleaded guilty. The plea was received and Judge Bridge found Nice guilty as charged.

She handed him a sevenyear suspended sentence in the Department of Corrections, $500 fee, $50 VCA and court costs and ordered the sentence to run concurrent with the sentences in the 2024 case which included two additional charges of child abuse.

Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Lori McConnell shows that Nice was convicted on May 5, 2021 in Pottawatomie County District Court with felony Domestic violence by Strangulation.

Assistant District Attorney Kelly Trimble prosecuted the case and Nice’s defense’s attorney was Craig Webb.

Recently, appearing before Judge Bridge on the District Attorney’s Ovce motion to revoke, the judge continued the case until 9 a.m. Nov.4, 2025.
