The McLoud City Council during its most recent meeting approved a proposal/agreement for professional engineering services on new wastewater infrastructure in the I-40 corridor.
The agreement is with Cardinal Engineering. Council members approved an agreement with the firm during its January meeting. But City Manager Buck Day explained the new agreement makes some changes.
He said the agreement approved last month is now null and void with the new one that was approved last week.
In the January meeting, Day said the city needs to run a sewer line about four miles from south of I-40 to the wastewater treatment plant in McLoud. “It’s estimated it will cost $3 million to $4 million,” he added.
During a special meeting in February, the Council and Public Works Authority voted to approve a loan with the Oklahoma Water Resources Board for $6.4 million.
In other action last week, the Council approved a contract with the McLoud Youth Football and Cheer Program.
Council members also tabled three agenda items. Mayor Stan Jackson explained Councilman Daniel McClure, Jr., who was unable to attend the meeting, had requested three items be placed on the agenda.
They include the deer and duck hunting schedule for Wes Watkins Lake, Youth Outdoor Camps to be held at Wes Watkins Lake and Farmers Market Operations for 2021.
