‘Not guilty’ plea entered in neglect case

A Prague woman facing a single count of child neglect who waived her preliminary hearing and has pleaded not guilty.

Her husband, Lou Earl Nelson, was charged with four felonies for alleged crimes against minors.

Lynette Marie Ausborn, 43, was charged in Lincoln County District Court Nov. 7, 2023 with child neglect. She appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk on Nov. 3 and her bond is $25,000.

During her arraignment recently before District Judge John Canavan Ausborn pleaded not guilty and the judge scheduled her for jury trial June 10. He set her for the felony disposition docket at 9 a.m. May 7.

She made her initial appearance on Nov. 13. Her pre-preliminary hearing was Dec. 21.

On March 7, she waived her preliminary hearing.

Nelson, 43, was charged Oct. 25, 2023 in Lincoln County District Court with two counts of lewd acts with a child under 16, possession of child pornography and using access to computer to violate Oklahoma statutes.

His bond is set at $200,000. He made an initial appearance on Oct. 31.

He has pleaded not guilty to the four charges and has been set for the felony disposition docket on May 7.

Ausborn is accused of between Nov. 1, 2022 and Sep. 14, 2023 of neglecting two children by failure to protect them from exposure to sexual acts or materials that are not age-appropriate as a person responsible for the health, safety or welfare of those children.
