A review of a Chandler woman’s case who was sentenced in 2023 to 30 years in prison for conviction of two felonies has been until March.
Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on Sep. 21, 2022 against Destiny Ann Lowe, 39, and her husband Robert Wayne Lowe, 41.
Robert Lowe was sentenced to multiple life terms and his wife also was sentenced on sex-related crimes with a minor.
They were arrested by Lincoln County deputies. Both had entered blind pleas of guilty. Destiny Ann appeared before District Judge Sarah Bridge for a review. However, no report had been received from the Department of Corrections.
The case as been continued until March 4. Robert Lowe, who also had entered blind guilty pleas to six counts of lewd acts with a child under 16, appeared Dec. 19 before District Judge John Canavan for sentencing. The judge found him guilty on counts 1 through 6 and ordered a sentence of life in the Department of Corrections on each count and to pay court costs.
Destiny Ann entered the blind guilty plea on Oct. 10, 2023 before Judge Canavan.
Appearing before Judge Canavan on Dec. 19, the judge found her guilty as charged on Count 1, enabling child abuse and sentenced her to five years in the Department of Corrections, assessed her a $500 fine, a $100 VCA, and court costs.
On Count 2, he also found her guilty, handed her a sentence of 25 years in DOC, a $500 fine, $100 VCA, court costs and ordered the sentences to run consecutively with each other. She is to be given credit for time served and is to report to the Court Clerks’ Office within 180 days of release.
A pre-sentence investigation was requested and ordered.
Originally, Robert Lowe faced four counts of lewd acts to a child under 12 years old and Destiny Lowe was charged with a single count of enabling child sexual abuse. Those charges were later amended to include additional counts.
At the conclusion of their preliminary hearing on Jan. 20 this year, they were bound over to stand trial.
Robert Lowe was facing a total of seven counts of lewd acts with a child under 16 and Destiny Lowe has admitted one count of enabling child sexual abuse and one count of lewd acts with a child under 16.
