Scholarships awarded

Three students were recognized by Seminole State College at the All-Oklahoma Academic Team and Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges Presidents’ Tuition Waiver Awards Ceremony on March 25 - Savana Sims from Prague, Felicity Hamilton from McLoud, and Emelia Bronson from Shawnee, according to a press release from the college.

All three received a $1,000 scholarship to SSC, which can be split between the fall and spring semesters.

Savana Sims is a senior at Prague High School and a member of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Teen Board, the press release said. She currently captains the high school cheer team and volunteers as a little league cheer coach. Sims was selected for the Oklahoma Youth Tour, participated in the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership program and made the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.

Felicity Hamilton is a senior at McLoud High School and is involved in Business Professionals of America (BPA), drama, Link Crew and the National Honor Society, according to the press release. Her awards include the Janis Stotts Academic Letterman Jacket, One Act Regional Champion and Archery National Qualifier in 2023 and 2024. Emelia Bronson is a senior at Shawnee High School. She’s active in band, tennis, Senior Leadership and Leadership through Mentoring. She has an academic letterman jacket, was named Student of the Month in April 2024 and received an Outstanding Social Studies award.
