A Wellston man previously convicted of several felonies faces a new felony count alleging a crime involving minors following his arrest by Lincoln County officers.
Steven Ray McAlister, about 43, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Jan. 15, 2025 with sex offender residing with minor child, a felony.
He appeared before District Judge Sarah Bridge Dec. 31, 2024 and she set his bond at $10,000. He made initial appearance on Jan. 23 before Special Judge Emily Mueller who continued the case until March 27 and ordered McAlister to have an attorney at that time.
McAlister is accused on Dec. 25, 2024 of committing the crime of sex offender residing with a minor by residing with a 16-year-old and an 11-year-old in Wellston after having been convicted on Oct.1, 2007 in Oklahoma County District Court of first degree rape in which a minor child was the victim.
Supplemental information filed in the case by Assistant District Attorney Rachel Thompson shows McAlister was previously convicted of these felonies.
On Jan. 12, 2021 in Oklahoma County District Court he was convicted of possession of a forged instrument.
He was convicted on Oct. 1, 2007 in Oklahoma County District Court of first degree rape.
On Nov. 14, 2007 in Oklahoma County District Court he was convicted of concealing stolen property.
McAlister was convicted on Sep. 21, 2004 in Oklahoma County District Court of four different charges of second degree forgery.
On March 5, 2003 in Oklahoma County District Court he was convicted of distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Methamphetamine.
