Ethan Stone, Chandler FFA, won National Championship honors at the 97th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. He was a member of the Oklahoma FFA team.
Stone won the National Proficiency Award for Fruit and Nut Production. He was one of eight national champions from the state, according to a press release from Oklahoma Career Tech. Oklahoma FFA also had one national runner-up, 18 other placements, 21 gold emblem individual awards and a national officer nominating committee member.
“As Oklahoma FFA members return from the 97th National FFA Convention, we are incredibly proud of their dedication and success on the national stage,” said Trevor Lucas, state FFA executive secretary. “Their accomplishments highlight the exceptional teaching and learning happening in agricultural education classrooms across the state, where students are building skills, knowledge and leadership that will benefit their futures and our communities.”
