The Stroud School Board approved changes to graduation requirements that would allow college and trade classes to count as high school credit at its monthly meeting on Feb. 10.
The decision was unanimous and will allow students attending classes at a university, college or trade school to receive high school credit.
The Board also voted to accept the resignation of Russell Smith as a bus driver.
A parent, Shelby Birchmier, spoke about an incident involving the bus driver during which her children were injured in the Hearing of Delegations section earlier in the meeting.
The Board also agreed to hire Jennifer Roberts as the librarian at the middle school. She will replace Lori Nicum, whose resignation was approved at last month’s meeting.
Other items approved at the meeting are overnight stays for FFA to participate in the FFA State Officier Nominating Committee and State FFA Convention and the girls’ and boys’ golf teams for Regional and State tournaments.
They took no action on similar requests from the archery team, who requested it for an event in Salt Lake City and the girls’ basketball team for playoffs. The Board tabled such a request from the FCCLA for the FCCLA State Convention in Tulsa in April.
The School Board also approved the use of Stroud School facilities by the Stroud Alumni Association during Alumni Weekend.
