Wellston man charged with kidnapping

A Wellston man, previously convicted of several felonies, faces two more following his arrest by Lincoln County deputies recently Dallas Allen Steele, 36, was charged on April 12 this year in Lincoln County District Court with kidnapping and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, both felonies.

He appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk on April 10 and she his bond at $15,000. He made his initial appearance on April 15 before Judge Kirk and she continued it until May 13.

Steele was order to appear with an attorney at that time.

In Count 1, Steele is accused on April 9 of kidnapping by unlawfully seizing, abducting and carrying away Deidre Steele with the intent to coniine her against her will.

Count 2 charges him on the same date of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon by threatening Deidre with a knife, a dangerous weapon.

Court records show that Special Judge Emily Mueller has issued a protective order again Dallas Allen Steele.

Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Adam Kallsnick shows Steele has been convicted of at least 17 felonies.

In a probable cause affidavit, Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff Kevin Chapman states he and Deputy Ty Wiseman responded to 330886 E.

1000 Road in Wellston regarding a welfare check.

Upon their arrival, they discovered that Deidre Steele had been assaulted and taken against her by her son Dallas Steele.

Chapman said Deidre informed him of the events that morning where her son Dallas demanded she give him her vehicle keys but she refused to do so. Dallas reportedly grabbed Deidre by the hair and dragged her outside, shoved her around and forced her into the driver’s seat of her car with him getting in the passenger side.

She further advised the deputy that her son told her to drive to the nearest gas station and along the way threatened to kill her multiple times, including pulling a pocket knife on her and informing her she was going to die that day.

With her being threatened, she drove to the Harrah Police Department and when she stopped, Dallas got out and left the immediate area on foot.

She couldn’t get into the Harrah Police Department because all the doors were locked, she informed Chapman, so she made contact with a gas station employee who called Harrah Police and that it when they became involved.

Chapman points out after gathering that information, he contacted Lincoln County Detective Larry Stover, who responded to Deidre’s residence and Stover then responded to the Harrah Police Department where he arrested Dallas and transported him to the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler and booked without further incident.

The supplemental information regarding prior convictions shows that Dallas Steele has been convicted in the District Courts of several counties in Oklahoman including Okmulgee, Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and Garfield.

Among some of the convictions are at least four possession of firearm after former felony convictions.
