A Wellston woman, one of four people residing in the same residence with nine children in 2023 and facing a child neglect charge, has withdrawn her previous plea and pleaded guilty.
Courtney Diane Eaton, 29 at the time she was charged in Lincoln County District Court July 24, 2023 with one count of child neglect, withdrew her plea of innocent as the result of a plea bargain.
District Judge Sarah Bridge advised Eaton child neglect is an 85 percent crime. Eaton pleaded guilty and the court received her plea and found her guilty as charged.
Judge Bridge deferred sentencing for a period of five years, handed her a $100 Judicial assessment, $100 VCA and court costs and ordered her to pay 991 fees.
Eaton was placed on supervised probation with the Oklahoma Court Services. She was ordered to report to the Probation Office and Court Clerk’s Office.
