Wellston woman faces harboring charges

A $10,000 benc1h warrant has been issued for a Wellston woman after she was charged with harboring a fugitive from justice.

A formal charge was filed on Sep. 13 in Lincoln County District against Bridgett Lynn Mitchell, 49. The bench warrant was issued the same day.

She is accused on about Aug. 25, 2023 of knowingly harboring Tyler Woodall who had been charged and was seeking to avoid arrest for the crime of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Kelly Trimble shows that Mitchell has two previous felony convictions.

On Feb. 2, 2023 she was convicted in Oklahoma County District Court of felon in possession of firearm.

In Lincoln County District on Dec. 14, 2011, she was convicted of felony child neglect.

Public records show that Woodall, 32, was charged in Lincoln County District on Aug. 24, 2023 with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and a $5,000 bench warrant was issued. The warrant was returned and filed the next day, Aug. 25. Woodall made an initial appearance Aug. 31, a further initial appearance on Sep. 7.

Special Judge Emily Mueller has scheduled a pre-preliminary hearing Sep. 21. His bond remains the same.

Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Rachel Thompson shows that Woodall has 13 previous felony convictions since 2015.

They include the following: Oct. 31, 2019, Pottawatomie County District Court, felony driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs.

June 14, 2018, Oklahoma County District Court, unauthorized use of a vehicle and aggravated attempting to elude a police officer.

May 12, 2016, Oklahoma County District Court, Escape from Penitentiary.

Sep. 24, 2019, Lincoln County District Court, conspiracy and three convictions for possession of stolen vehicle, altering or removing VIN, knowingly concealing stolen property, second degree forgery and possession of firearm after former felony conviction.

March 23, 2015, Lincoln County District Court, second degree burglary.
