Lincoln County commissioners during their meeting this week awarded a bid for a courthouse and jail security camera system.
They awarded the bid to CastleCom and the total cost is $111,172, Commission Chairman Lee Doolen said.
The project includes 180 days of storage, he noted.
They also discussed, but took no action, on a proposal from Pottawatomie County Rural Water District No. 3 to run water to Jacktown, Fowler Road and Meeker.
Doolen explained that the Rural Water District is wanting the County to pay for the project by using ARPA funds. He indicated commissioners aren’t ready yet to take action on that proposal.
Commissioners adopted a couple of resolutions authorizing the use of County Bridge and Road Improvement funds to pay the engineering fees for bridge projects. One is in District 1 and the other is in District 2.
Both are BIA bridge projects. Commissioners also adopted another resolution accepting Lincoln County’s SFY2023- 2028 six-year allocation plan.
They approved a payment of $62,160 to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for reimbursement of a CDBG grant. Doolen explained the grant was for the Arlington Fire Department to purchase skid units for their rigs.
They also approved Crosstown Beam Transfer Forms for scheduled bridge projects. They approved the Title Sheets for proposed bridge projects in District 3.
Following considerable discussion, they took no action on a proposal from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to remove temporary structures from the bridge inventory.
Don Russell, engineer with EST advised, “There is an advantage to leaving the bridges on the inventory.”
Doolen said Russell and his firm is who the county has hired and works with on most of their road projects and has for many years.
Commissioners decided to take no action on accepting an offer from Prairie Gas of Oklahoma in Section 21-15N-5E in District 1.
They also took no action on amending the vacation section of the recently adopted handbook.
Commissioners adopted a resolution to vacate the right-of-way located at 3340 Road between the west turnpike entrance and Route 66 in Wellston.
In other business, commissioners approved a lease agreement between Lincoln County District 3 and Rock-n-Rail in Wellston. Doolen said it was for surface rights only to store rock and rip rap.
He explained it had nothing to do with the rail.
Commissioners also adopted a resolution disposing of equipment in the County Clerk’s Office and they approved a purchase card payment to Bank of America.
