Meeker Town Board meeting

Meeker Town Board of Trustees this week authorized its Administrator to spend up to $2,000 for sand and delivery of that sand to develop a beach at Meeker Lake.

Their action came following the suggestion of local citizen Forrest Billingsly who also recommended that a couple of No Fishing signs be erected in that area.

Billingsly also suggested that churches might be challenged to adopt mowing and weed eating to help clean up areas of town.

Trustees also approved an agreement with Circuit Engineering District 4.

They voted to remove Mary Conner from all checking, savings, Police Bond and Visa accounts and adding Kimberly Haynes as a signer on all of those.

They approved removing Conner as Treasurer and adding Haynes as the Treasurer for the Town of Meeker.

They approved Town Administrator Jeff Wiborun’s request to add Haynes to the CMO plan.

Trustees voted and authorized Grant Administrator Leslie Wilborn to apply for and submit an application for a T-Set grant.

Following a brief executive session, Trustees voted to accept he resignation of Police Officer James Hill and also allow him to repay any expenses incurred in regards to the Town of Meeker.

He was retained as a reserve officer of the department.

Trustees approved making monthly payments for Lincoln County Dispatch Services and tabled a discussion on the overpopulation of cats in the Town of Meeker.

Meeting as the Public Works Authority, they voted to approve Wilbourn’s recommendation of adding Jody Vaughn to the CMO Plan.
