The Parkview Elementary Cross-Country runners wrapped up their season last week with a fun Glow Run celebration. After the run they enjoyed some well-deserved ice cream. Thank you to Coach Kelly Brown and Coach Doug McCoy for the encouragement and dedication they gave in helping these young athletes grow and succeed.

The Tigers took home a great win last Friday night after defeating the Pawnee Black Bears 4234 on the Bear’s home field. The Tigers will take on the Tonkawa Buccaneers this Friday night here in Stroud with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Come cheer the Tigers on to another victory and don’t forget to bring your Town Talk cowbells to the game. Also, let’s color the town blue on Friday night by turning on our Tiger Blue lightbulbs. I hear those lights repel Buccaneers!
Lincoln and August played baseball games on Sunday in Jenks and were proud to take home two wins. They both spent time on the mound and each batted in the winning run in their two consecutive games. It was a hot September day, but the Performance Baseball team gave it their all and enjoyed a little celebration pizza after the game.
Our country suffered a tragic event this past week with the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. I wore my Unique Market “Be Kind” shirt this week when I was out and about in Tulsa just as a reminder to those I passed. I get comments every time I wear it so I do think wearing positive message t-shirts shares a gentle reminder of how we should act not only as Americans but as humans. I’m proud to say I do think our community is a community of kindness and of faith. Town Talk thanks each of you for the support you shower on our group of volunteers and the projects we try to accomplish for Stroud. Thank you, too, for remembering to shop local……….. first!
