This week, Wednesday, September 25th from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. the Stroud Little League Football & Cheer is hosting a” You Are Not Alone” assembly at the Stroud High School auditorium. Special speakers will be focusing on encouraging our youth. The public is invited to attend.
Town Talk Team Trivia is Wednesday September 25th at 6:00 p.m. at the American Legion building. The cost is $20 for a single and $30 for a couple. Dinner will be provided, and you’ll have a chance to test your trivial knowledge against other trivia buffs.
Stroud Arts is hosting a small, community Medieval Faire on Saturday, October 5th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in Foster Park. Contact David Timmons at Stroud City Hall for more information.

Pack the Park Fall Fest will take place in Foster Park on Friday and Saturday, October 18th and 19th. On Friday there will be a concert and food trucks from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. there will be vendors, a petting zoo, barrel train rides, brick and rolling pin throwing contest, cornhole tournament, fun games, a movie at dark and much more. This event is being sponsored by the Stroud Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Midpoint Corridor Route 66 Association.
Sac and Fox Nation will host a Kids Rodeo Day and Halloween Bash on Sunday, October 20th beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Sac and Fox Rodeo Arena. Plan on being there by 5:45 p.m. in you plan to participate in the rodeo.
Putt Putt Kicks on Route 66 is open every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Children through 3 years of age are free to play, elementary students pay $3.00 and junior high through adult pay $5.00 for eighteen holes.
The SHS Class of 1984 recently lost one of their classmates, Tracy Hornbeck. Tracy’s homegoing service will be held Saturday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Jesus First Baptist Church in Stroud. Town Talk offers its condolences to the Hornbeck family.
The Stroud Middle School Tigers football team suffered a narrow defeat Monday night with a 22-20 loss to the North Rock Creek Cougars.
Stroud took the lead late in the fourth quarter leaving about a minute on the game clock.
The Cougars managed to get in one more touchdown and a two-point conversion with the Tigers taking over the ball with only seconds to go. The Tigers gave it their all but were unable to come up with the win.
Eighth graders on the team are Gage Bailey, Lane Day, Gideon Smalley, Logan Neuman, Logan Neuman, Payton Hogan, Julius Sanders, Eddie Arnold, Nate St. Martin, and Aikmann Harrington. Seventh graders are Lawyer Plunkett, Beau Ackerman, Cale Haines, Gavin Morris, Colton Briggs, Wyatt Menefee, Nick Bigby, Cody Waters, Max Bell, Holdyn Dulaney and Kevin Alford. Sixth graders are Johnny Ralston, Bodey Ingram-Peters, Brendyn Poullard, Beaux Presley, Brently Stanley, Hunter Mash, Zoey Rake, Micah Haines, Landon Brown, Kaden Wise and Rikkie Arnold. Head Coach is Nick Hoover and Assistant Coaches are Tim Hinds, DJ McIntyre, and Neal Bacon.
The Tigers will take on the Luther Lions Monday night at Jack Poskey Field with a kickoff time of 5:30 p.m.
The Stroud High School Tigers football team won on the road this past Friday defeating the Tonkawa Buccaneers by a score of 28-0.
They will take on the Kellyville Ponies this Friday night at Jack Poskey Field beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers are 3-0 for the season.
A new restaurant in town, Fourth and James, is having a soft opening this week beginning with drive-through only.
