Easter

Easter Sunday comes a little early this year. This coming Sunday is Easter and I had someone ask me the other day was I ready for it.

I answered I guess I was.

The entire weekend, Saturday and Sunday, is forecasted to be really nice, warm temperatures, highs in the 70s. That will make it pleasant outdoors, with the wind predicted to be light on Saturday but fairly gusty at times throughout the day on Sunday.

Religion and spiritual-wise, this is the most important day of the year. Our Lord Has Risen, Alleluia! Alleluia At many churches, attendance increases on this Sunday.

It’s also a day that many people take time to relax, enjoy family and have either an early dinner or evening supper together.

Not sure yet what are plans might be since Pat and I haven’t really talked about it.

Last year our daughter Meghan brought our grandson Liam over on Saturday afternoon so he could spend the night with us.

Her husband Terry was working as he had to on Easter Sunday afternoon as well. This year, though, Terry is now off on Sundays.

Last year Liam was only a little over 3½ years old and Meghan had a surprise for him when we took Liam home late Sunday afternoon.

There was a fundraiser to drop Easter eggs and Meghan heard about it and wanted to have that done for Liam. So, sometime in the early morning hours of Easter Sunday morning, the colorful, plastic Easter eggs were spread over Meghan, Terry’s and Liam’s front yard.

The fun was on! He started picking up the eggs, one at a time, and shook each one to see if he could hear something. He did all right and he could hardly wait to see what was inside.

He’s now a year older and not sure what she might have planned for him this year.

Last year, even with doing all of this for Liam, Meghan also had cooked Easter Sunday dinner for us. It was delicious of course.

While Meghan was finishing cooking dinner, Liam wanted to go out in his back yard and hide some of those again that he hadn’t opened.

So Pat and I did that with him before we came in and enjoyed that wonderful dinner.

We’re fortunate they live as close as they do, only 35 miles or so away, so we can see and enjoy those kinds of things with him and them.

To my knowledge, there hasn’t been any conversation with them about this Sunday. Guess I’ll find out later if there are going to be any plans made and what they are.
