Chandler

- For the week, 3-0. Wins over Tecumseh (1-0), Roland (10-0) and Sequoyah (12-0). Now 27-3 for the season, ranked No. 2 in Class 3A, Regional champions.

The Lady Lions got dominant pitching from Kennedy Allen and made quick work of their regional.

Allen two-hit Roland on Thursday and struck out 17. She was even more dominant on Friday, throwing a five-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and was only a base on balls away from a perfect game.

The sweep put the Lady Lions into the best-of-three super regional, which they will host this week. Since they are ranked No. 2, they will host the No. 15 team, which is the Jones Lady Longhorns. Games are at noon and 2 p.m. Thursday, with the “if necessary” game pending.

Chandler had 13 hits against Roland. Madison Cagle had a pair, Ruthie and Rylee Capps had two hits each, Halle Herrmann had a pair of singles and Blaklei Smith had a single and double.

Cagle had four hits against Sequoyah, Gentry Garner had two doubles and Allen, Smith and Herrmann had two hits each.

On Monday, the Lady Lions took a 1-0 decision from Class 4A power Tecumseh.

Brenlee Corea tripled with one out in the sixth inning and Ruthie Capps brought her home with a sacrifice bunt.

Hits were at a premium, as Allen styled a three-hitter for Chandler and Cagle, Corea and Herrmann had hits the Lady Lions. Allen struck out 11 batters.

Dale

For the week: 3-0. Wins over Ripley (13-1) and Meeker (11-0 and 11-0). Now 34-3 for the season, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A and Super-Regional champions.

The two-time defending state champion DLPs swept Meeker in the Super Regional, earning yet another trip to the state tournament. They’ve won the fast-pitch state championship seven times.

Dale will play Howe at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Boo Herber and Maxtyn Motley combined for a onehitter in the first game against Meeker, with Herber going the first four.

Kinley Patten was 3-for-3, with a home run and four RBI. Khloe Jones was 2-for-3 with a triple and a pair of RBI and Kelbey Welcher had two hits and knocked in two runs.

Jones provided the power for Dale in the second game, hitting two home runs, going 3-for-4 and driving in four runs.

The DLPs banged out eight extra-base hits, getting two doubles from Motley, two triples from Daley Lang, a double from Brooke Sheline and a triple from Patten.

Herber and Motley combined for a two-hitter in the circle.

On Monday, Dale woodshedded Ripley, 13-1. Herber and Motley combined for a one-hitter and struck out six in five innings.

Jones had two doubles and two RBI, Reese Herring had a double and two RBI, Sheline had a double, three RBI, a single and drove in four runs and Holland Herring had a single, a double and three RBI Davenport

For the week: 3-2. Wins over Cleveland (6-2) and South Coffeyville (12-0 and 12-2). Losses to Red Oak (1-10 and 0-8). Now 26-9 for the season.

Davenport came within two wins of the state tournament before the season ended in Red Oak on Friday.

The Lady Bulldogs hammered South Coffeyville, 12-0, on Thursday but fell to Red Oak, 10-1. Coming back on Friday, they again beat South Coffeyville, 12-2, before falling to Red Oak, 8-0, in the finals.

Davenport made short work of South Coffeyville on Thursday, winning in a three-inning run rule.

Charlie Adams had three hits and Landry Miller had two hits - both triples. Nevah Ray and Ashlyn Walker had two hits each and Ray, Gabby Murfin, Walker and Briley Hauk had two RBI each. Autumn Gaylord and Caden Blair doubled.

Gaylord got the win in the circle, facing only 10 batters and not allowing a hit.

The second time around with South Coffeyville followed the same basic script, except it took four innings for the run rule.

Gaylord doubled again and drove in three runs, Miller had two more hits and two RBI, Murfin had a triple and a single and Blair had tripled, singled and drove in two runs.

Murfin and Jaz Williams pitched two innings each.

McLoud

For the week: 2-2. Wins over Ada (2-1) and Checotah (9-1). Losses to Broken Bow (0-5) and Checotah (3-4). Now 25-10 for the year.

Checotah scored in the top of the seventh to edge the Lady Redskins, 4-3, on Thursday and eliminate them from the playoffs.

McLoud had to make the long trek to Broken Bow for the regional and started off Wednesday with a 9-1 win over Checotah.

The Lady Redskins put up a five-spot in the second inning to take command of the game. Makenzie Lane clubbed a home run, Avery Soward had two hits and scored two runs, Ella Smith had a double and single and drove in two runs. Jacie King had two hits.

Smith and Miley Hicklin combined for a four-hitter, with Smith throwing the first four innings and Hicklin the final three.

Meeker

For the week: 0-3. Losses to Drumright (3-4) and Dale (0-11 and 0-11) After sweeping their regional tournament, the Lady Bulldogs had the misfortune of encountering the No. 1 team in the state - Dale - in their best-of-three super regional.

Dale pulled off the sweep, winning a pair of 11-0 games on Thursday.

Macy Jones and Brynlee Gatz had hits for Meeker. Earlier in the week, Drumright came from three runs down to clip the MLBs 4-3.

Jones and Raygin Thomas had a double and a single each and Hazel Wahpepah knocked in all three Meeker runs.

North Rock Creek

For the week: 4-0. Wins over OKC Lady Broncos (16-3), Wagoner (14-2) and Vinita (13-0 and 13-1). Now 25-7 for the year, ranked No. 11 in Class 4A and Regional champions.

The Lady Cougars rolled through their regional, winning three games by a combined score of 40-3.

Now it’s a short trip to Tecumseh to face their Pott County rivals in the best-of-three super regional. Games are noon and 2 p.m. Thursday, with the “if necessary” game at noon on Friday.

Tecumseh and the Lady Cougars finished 1-2 in District 4A-5 and split their two district games. NRC coach Josh Ray said he expects the super regional to go Friday.

“It’s what playoff softball is all about,” he said. “These two schools have played in big playoff games and district games the last few years and it always seems that when North Rock and Tecumseh play, there’s something on the line.”

Prague

For the week: 2-3. Wins over Tishomingo (8-7 and 5-4). Losses to Bethel (1-6), Shawnee (4-5), Tishomingo (0-4). Now 19-13 for the season, ranked No. 12 in the state in Class 3 and, Regional champions.

The Prague Lady Devils built an early 5-1 lead, then held off Tishomingo late to win the regional championship game, 5-4, on Friday They now advance to the Super regional this week against Lindsay. Games are noon and 2 p.m. Thursday at Lindsay with the “if necessary” game pending.

Prague clipped Tish, 8-7, on Thursday but the Lady Indians came through the loser’s bracket to make the finals on Friday.

Tish won, 4-0, in the first game Friday, setting up the winner-take-all finals.

Although they have only two seniors - pitcher Brinley Menefee and first baseman Kacey Cantrell - Prague handled the pressure like a veteran squad.

“We talked between games and told them we have a lot of different things going on around campus today, and sometimes we’re in positions that we’re supposed to be in to work on things and learn lessons,” Prague coach Dailyn King said. “How we respond and the choices we make will determine the outcome of this game.”

Tish scored in the top of the first of the finals,but Prague came out swinging, getting four runs in the bottom of the inning.

Taelyr Norman drove in Ainsley Auld on a fielder’s choice for the first run, Emma Hinkle singled to score Maddie Roberts, Cantrell singled to score Hinkle, and Hallee Elmore drove in Jaxcyn Goodnight.

They added what turned out to be an important run in the second when Keira Carter scored on an infield error.

Menefee spread out eight hits and got the win in the circle.
