The Davenport Bulldogs, still looking for their first win of the season, have their home opener Friday night as they host Yale. Coach John Greenfield said kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
“They have a win under their belt,” he said of Yale. “They lost to Oklahoma Bible like we did, but defeated Coyle.”
Greenfield’s Davenport squad lost to Regent Prep 42-0, last Friday night and is hoping for a better outcome against Yale.
“We get our home run threat back this week and that should help us. He makes us a lot better,” the coach believes.
“They have some quickness but it’s hard to tell about them,” the veteran coach noted.
On the loss to Regent Prep, Greenfield said, “They scored only time in the second half. We got on ‘em after halftime and played good defense the entire second half.”
He commented that Regent Prep had a couple of players “who dominated our guys. We just couldn’t get anything going offensively. We played better on offense the third quarter, but not in the final period.”
