Stroud woman pleads guilty

A Stroud woman facing a child neglect charge has pleaded guilty and handed a brief sentence with most all of the time suspended. Jessica Shadawn Jordan, 29, and Jack Keith Wofford, 31, were formally charged in Lincoln County District Court Sep. 20 with child neglect. On Oct.

Early holiday deadlines

Two die in crash south of Stroud

A tire blow out on SH 99 south of Stroud in Lincoln County reportedly caused a pickup to go out of control and crash, leading to the death of the driver and his passenger.

Area school board candidate filings

Candidates for Boards of Education in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties filed Declaration of Candidacies last week. In Lincoln County, those who filed for seats include: Agra, Office No. 4, Trenton Herrmann, wins unopposed. Carney, Office No. 4, Charles Wright, JaNetta Milburn-Barr, Ramona Perry.

A pre-preliminary hearing has been continued again for a Carney man who was arrested following a pursuit and charged with two felonies.

Suspect in high speed chase to go to trial

A driver facing four charges after he reportedly led Stroud police on a high speed pursuit and was arrested has been bound over to stand trial. Dustin Don Secrest, 41, of Coweta, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 10 this year with two felonies and two misdemeanors.

No-show for bench trial

A defendant who waived a jury trial and asked for a bench trial instead failed to appear and a $50,000 bench warrant has been issued for his arrest. Joshua Wade Pleasant, 34, Shawnee, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Aug.

Rotarians of the Month announced

Erika Russell and Calista Schardt have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for the month of December. Russell is the daughter of Brad and Angie Russell and has four older brothers as well as an older sister. She plans to attend UCO after graduation to pursue a bachelor’s in Biology.
