Lincoln County pair charged with child abuse

Bench warrants have been returned and filed on a woman from Meeker and a man from Shawnee who have been charged with felony child abuse. Megan Marie Nash, 35, Meeker and Jonathon Lee Nice, 36, Shawnee were formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Sep. 22.

Lions of the Month announced

Robert Wood and Breanna Guinn have been named Lions of the Month for November by the Lions Club. Robert Wood is the son of Geoffrey Wood and Linda Rivera. After graduating, he plans to attend Oklahoma State University and obtain a bachelor’s and master’s in mechanical aerospace engineering.

Work has been completed on the Stroud bridge over the Turner Turnpike (I-44) and all lanes and ramps were opened earlier this week. Lisa Shearer-Salim, spokesperson for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, said the work was completed in four nights beginning on Friday night, Nov. 10.

CIC hosts spaghetti dinner

The Citizens for the Improvement of Chandler (CIC) will host a free spaghetti dinner on Nov. 22. The dinner will take place at the CIC Community Center at 1401 S. Steele in Chandler. The dinner is to last from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and everyone is welcome to come and eat.

Dale calls election for empty school board seat

Dale Board of Education members recently approved a resolution calling for the annual School Board election for Office No. 4. The seat has been vacant since June of this year when Josh Clark resigned from the position.
