Three students from Wellston placed at this year’s American Farmers & Ranchers (AFR) Central District Speech Contest in Tecumseh on Nov. 11.

Hearing set in weapon-in-jail case

A pre-preliminary hearing is scheduled for a defendant who was arrested by a Wellston police officer for driving while under the influence of intoxicating alcohol, reportedly pulled a gun and attempted to shoot a Lincoln County Sheriff’s jailer who was patting him down.

Plea entered in abuse case

An Agra man facing two counts of child sexual abuse has entered an innocent plea and been for the February docket..John David Somers, Jr., 33, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Jan. 4, 2024 with the two counts.

Hearing on pot charges

A Chandler man who allegedly obtained an OMMA license and OBN registration fraudulently and has been charged with trafficking illegal drugs and more than 10,000 marijuana plants were discovered and destroyed, has waived his preliminary hearing.

Thanksgiving deadline

The Lincoln County News will print a day early Thanksgiving week to allow for delivery before Thanksgiving.Deadlines for ads, obituaries and news items will be 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21.The paper will go to press Monday night, Nov. 25, and will be available in racks and stores on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
