Sometimes we don’t miss really something in life until we lose it or forget about it. The other night while my wife Pat and I were watching TV, a commercial came on and it jogged my memory about a place I went to fairly frequently as a kid.

A special thank you to David Evans, Lyndon and Lisa Patton, Bryan and Mary Vickrey, Julie Bivin, Cathy Terry and Andrea Thompson for helping lay the weed control barrier for the miniature golf course last week. Also, on hand to supervise the project were Aleta Smalley and Steve Bivin.

Night fall came early Friday evening, so I turned in early. Awoke at 3:00 am and here I am with a notebook labeled LCN and pen in hand. One of my last wrings to you was on 6-25-2018. Let me take it from there with my thoughts.

One Christmas break when I was 17 or so, Harold Wingard asked if I’d like to make the holiday profitable by working on a barn he was building. Harold owned a large dairy south of Fitzhugh and was building what was called a loafing barn. It was a big one, maybe 120 by 60 feet, going off memory.

Dear Editor, Gone are the days when I could pick up a newspaper and find 15-20 ads for garage sales and make my plans as to where to go. Now, people put them on Facebook and if you’re not Facebook friends, you don’t get that information. Even if you have an ad, you can still put it on Facebook.

Letters to the editor

A Letter from a Meeker Citizen, Early in the week, when I heard of the firing of Meeker’s Town Administrator, Dickie Walton, I imagined all kinds of misdeeds on his part. As I learned from The Lincoln County News today, there were no charges of any kind leveled against Walton.

Letters to the editor

Dear Editor: This letter is just to make a few comments about the recent firing of the Meeker City Manager by the town board on August 25th as reported in the newspaper on September 2. First I would like to commend Dickie Walton for his nearly four years of public service to the town of Meeker.
