Leo signs with UCO

Senior Ashlee Beatty (center, seated), also known as Leo the Lion, signs a letter of offer for the University of Central Oklahoma, where she will be the school’s mascot, Buddy the Bronco. The offer is for four years, and she will receive a scholarship of $1,000 per year as long as she is Buddy.

Headed to state

Area track teams and individuals stood out Monday during regional track meets.Above, Wellston freshman Savanah Gaylord won the 800 meters and finished second in the 400 in the Class A regional at Stroud. She ran 2:30.88 in the 800, beating Allie Sheppard of S W Covenant, who ran 2:31.70.

Stroud, Dale, NRC at slowpitch state

The Stroud Lady Tigers and Pott County powers North Rock and Dale made it to the slow-pitch state tournament at Hall of Fame Stadium Tuesday.The tournaments were still going on when we had to send the Lincoln County News to the press Tuesday night.

66 Conference track
