We kept the grandson part of this past weekend and when Pat and I and little Liam were riding around on Sunday we drove by several fireworks stands.It’s hard not to drive by one as many as there are around and they’ve been selling fireworks for at l e a s t a couple of weeks already.

National Guard Center update

The Oklahoma National Guard (OKNG) Joint Operations Center (JOC) in Chandler is expected to be completed by December 2025, weather permitting.The facility is dried, and the company building it is working on the interior, according to LTC Kristin Tschetter, chief of public affairs for the OKNG.

Oklahahoma Promise program expansion

The children of longtime teachers now qualify for the Oklahoma Promise Scholarship, so long as their household income is under 700 percent of the federal poverty level.

Embezzlement charge

A Chandler woman who was by Meeker police and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation in June has been formally charged with embezzlment.Lesa Manning, 64, was charged in Lincoln County District with one count of embezzlement.

Demos meet

Bringing back a landmark

On a stretch of Route 66 in Stroud, a piece of local history is getting a second chance, thanks to two hometown firefighters with a vision and a whole lot of grit.
