McLoud men plead guilty, no contest

By Mike McCormick Staff Writer TwoMcLoudmenfacing three felony charges each in connection with trafficking illegal drugs, cultivation of a controlled substance and possession of firearms during commission of a felony have avoided trials.
The Chandler Junior High 8th Grade Academic team placed first at Districts in November, runner up at Regionals in December and runner up at Area on Jan. 29. They’ve qualified for the Challenge of Champions academic meet, scheduled for March 29 at Redlands Community College in El Reno. The team has made it to this competition about three times. The case for a driver on the Turner Turnpike who was arrested and charged as the result of the seizure of 85 pounds of marijuana and who has waived his preliminary hearing, has been continued until March.

Another quail season has come and gone. In a way, I’m sorry I missed hunting the bobwhites other than briefly when my good friend Steve Buoy and I hunted them during the turkey season when we could hunt both quail and turkey.
