It may seem too far out to think about the kingdom of heaven. It is not for man, but if we follow Jesus He will take us right through that door. Flesh and blood cannot go through that door because it is spiritual. On the inside is only the action of God.

Summer reading program

The Chandler library 2022 Summer Reading Program will start June 7. This year’s theme is Oceans of Possibilities and is from children up to five years old. Older brothers and sisters may attend,but there may not be enough crafts for them.

Awards for Wellston FFA members

Four Wellston FFA members received their State FFA Degrees at the State FFA Convention in Tulsa last month. The State FFA Degree is the highest degree awarded by the Oklahoma FFA. Taylor McConnell was also recognized as an Academic Excellence recipient for her scholastic achievement.

Charges filed in turnpike case

A motorist faces a felony and two misdemeanors after he was arrested by a state trooper on the Turner Turnpike in Lincoln County. Formal charges were filed May 3 in Lincoln County District Court against Steven Mitchell Jones, 31, of Skiatook.

McLoud approves budget

The McLoud City Council during its most recent meeting approved the proposed Fiscal Year budget for 2023 that begins July 1 this year. Council members also adopted a resolution on approving the budget. Operating revenue in the General Fund is projected at $1,850,000.

Fences

Over the holiday weekend, Kindra and I redid the electric fence around the dogs’ back yard. The fence hasn’t worked in quite some time. We’re not sure when, but the breaker tripped and the controller has been as dead as a hammer, as my grandpa used to say. It didn’t matter.

Invisible is still real

A different Memorial Day

This past weekend we celebrated Memorial Day and it was a little different than most since I spent from late Friday morning until late Monday afternoon by myself.

12 charges against Wellston man

A total of a dozen charges, among them four felonies, have been filed against a Wellston man in two separate cases. They were filed within two weeks of one another. Michael Ray Hedge, 45, was charged in Lincoln County District Court on May 19 with three felonies and a misdemeanor.
