Dale, NRC, Stroud retain rankings

The Dale Lady Pirates, shown above after winning the Harrah Tournament over the weekend, remain ranked No. 1 in the state in Class 4A and held a 12-0 record through Monday. North Rock Creek is 10-2 and ranked No. 6 in Class 5A.

Gabriel Paul Eugene Chumley

Gabriel Paul Eugene Chumley was born to Angelic Shoemaker and Jason Chumley on January 21, 2000, in Oklahoma City. He died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, in Harrah, Okla., at the age of 21 years. Gabriel was preceded in death by two grandmothers and several great and great-great grandparents.

Mary Lou Penny

Mary Lou Penny was born to Troy and Stella Grammer on February 6, 1959, in Artesia, N.M. She died Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in Tulsa, Okla., at the age of 63 years. Penny was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jason Penny Sr., Jason Penny Jr.

Randall “Randy” King

Graveside services will be held for long-time Chandler resident Randall “Randy” King at 2 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2021. Services will be at Carnegie Cemetery in Carnegie, Okla. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Paulette Harrison

Paulette Harrison of Chandler was born to Darius Paul and Bernice (Robertson) Harrison on August 18, 1964, in Depew, Okla. She died Sunday, March 21, 2021, in Stroud at the age of 56 years. Her parents and her brother David Harrison preceded her in death.

Ronald Edwin Edmonson

A funeral will be held 2 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2021, for Ronald Edwin Edmonson of Meeker. Services will be at Lighthouse Holiness Church in Prague with burial following at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.

Pauline “Jackie” Canant

Pauline “Jackie” Canant was born in Sparks on July 17, 1925. She died Thursday, March 25, 2021, at her home in Chandler. She was 95 years old. Canant, the daughter of Daniel and Ethel Cowan, married Dennis “Bud” Canant on June 9, 1945, in Oklahoma City.

Clohie Louise Wilson

Clohie Louise Wilson was born to Troy and Myrtle (Harding) Lewis on June 26, 1935, in Kendrick, Okla. She died Friday, March 26, 2021, in Oklahoma City at the age of 85 years. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Jack Wilson Sr.

McLoud Council

McLoud City Council members have adopted a resolution seeking a Community Development Block Grant to continue improvements to the city’s wastewater system in the Heritage Park Addition. City Manager Buck Day explained the grant would be for $299,999 and the city’s leverage amount is $63,500.
