The temperature began to creep up and clouds began to roll in as 15 firefighters began working on setting up an annual tradition.

The Stroud Fire Department began the task to setting up the firework display at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.

Stroud Fire Chief Chris Wilson said it takes six hours to set up the show that will last 20 minutes.

A couple of the firefighters attend Firework Shooter Training, where they learn how to properly set up a safe firework display.

Wilson said the training is every three years, but they were unable to have more of their firemen attend the training due to COVID-19, which canceled the class.

As soon as the sun went down, the show started in Foster Park.
