Meeker’s Board of Education this week voted to approve $1,000 stipends for all full time personnel, excluding the superintendent.
Board members also accepted the retirement of Counselor Roseanne Smith.
Regarding the stipends, Meeker School Supt. Jeff Pruitt pointed out, “The Board of Education recognizes the importance of recruiting and retaining employees during the 2022-2023 school year.
Due to the continued efforts of staff at all levels, the District was able to provide a full program of in-person and virtual learning to students and families.
“In recognition of the risk to personal health and the exceptional work to prioritize needs of students performed by all employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, a recommendation is made to the Board of Education for the payment of a one-time, non-recurring, COVID-19 stipend.”
The board members also renewed OKTLE for Teacher Observation and Evaluation for the 20232024 school year.
They approved the 2022-2023 audit contract and engagement letter with Bledsoe, Hewett and Gullekson.
In the other business, the board: Renewed the contract with Municipal Accounting Systems for the 2023-2024 school year.
Approved a calendar for the 2023-2024 school year. Approved an upgrade to security cameras at the elementary school.
