Chandler cheer coach Cynthia Snider will be inducted into the Oklahoma Cheer Coaches Association on July 28, School Supt. Scott Baade told the school board during this week’s meeting.
Snider has taught at Chandler for 23 years and coached cheer the entire time. She started as the junior high coach, then moved to the high school in 2008.
Through her career, she has coached cheer for 31 years. She also is Chandler’s FACS teacher.
Chandler Board of Education members this week accepted the resignations of three school personnel and also hired a full time cafeteria worker.
Board members accepted the resignation of Jennifer Sayre, Park Road teacher, Makalyn Herring, East Side Paraprofessional and Amanda Brown, Pre-K teacher’s aide.
Following an executive session, the board members returned to open meeting and hired Cassandra Scott as a cafeteria staff worker, Baade said.
The board members voted to request the State Department of Education to have the 2023/2024 school year based on 1,080 hours and 165 days of instruction.
They agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office for a school resource officer for the 2023/2024 school year.
They authorized Baade to act as the Chandler School District Purchasing agent for Fiscal Year 24.
Board members discussed compliance with the Children’s Protection They authorized Baade to act as the district agent for food commodities, national school lunch and milk programs and filing of all the other records as required by the U.S. Department of Education for FY 24.
In other business, board members: Approved the renewal with Oklahoma Public School Resource Center for the 2023/2024 school year.
Approved the request for deregulation of library staffing at East Side, Park Road and Secondary libraries for the 2023/2024 school year.
Approved a contract with Kellogg & Sovereign Consulting, LLC., for Erate management services.
Approved the encumbrance for 12-month employees and summer help for FY24.
Approved the extra duty schedule for the 2023/2024 school year.
