Gerry Greenfield-Elliott was honored this weekend with a special musical tribute during the intermission of Lincoln County On-Stage’s production of “Deer Camp.” A long-time supporterofthecommunity theatre, Greenfield-Elliott was surprised by the performance.
Kerry Folsom, who plays guitar in the production’s live band, composed the song “Greenfield Family Farm” and debuted it before the audience after an introduction by Larry Lenora, one of the directors of “Deer Camp” and the vice-president of Lincoln County On-Stage.
The song was dedicated to Greenfield Farm Day Camp, started by Greenfield-Elliott in 1970. The camp ran for 53 years until this summer. She sat in the front row of the audience, moved to tears as she listened. Former Girl Scouts were in attendance as well, standing when asked if they had attended the camp.
