Gage Blankenship, Emmerson Snovel and Anna Phillips have been named Student Rotarians of the Month for February.
Gage Blankenship is the son of Doyle and Taira Blankenship and has one older brother.
After graduation, he plans to attend Oklahoma State University to pursue collegiate and professional coaching while minoring in religious studies Blankenship’s activities include basketball, golf, Rotary Club, serving as an elementary aide and BancFirst Student Board.
Emmerson Snovel is the daughter of Jacob Snovel and Ashley and Chad Weaver.
After graduation, she plans to publish her book of poetry and attend Oklahoma State University or University of Central Oklahoma with a year spent abroad.
She hopes to study quantum molecular physics and pursue a second degree in business.
Snovel has been active at Chandler High School, participating in pom, PSI, Peer Mentors (Captain), Positive Peers, Gifted and Talented and Thespian Troupe 1825.
She currently serves as student council president as well as class secretary for this year’s senior class.
Snovel was a 2023 Girls State Delegate, September’s Lion of the Month and is a member of the 2023-2024 BancFirst Student Board of Directors.
She played Wednesday Addams in the high school production of “The Addams Family Musical” and will take on the role of Audrey in this spring’s “Little Shop of Horrors.”
Her honors and awards include being selected to OSSAA Regional All-Star Cast in 2023 and 2022, 2020 2A/3A/4A Jazz State Runner-Up, 2020 OSDTDA Academic All-State, 2021 State Qualifier 3200m Relay, 2022 2A/3A/4A State Champion in both Jazz and Hip-Hop, 2022 DTU Be Bold Award, and OSDTDAAcademic State Champion in 2020 and 2021.
Most recently, Snovel became a back-to-back state champion when the varsity pom squad brought home two trophies for 3A/4A Jazz and 3A/4A Hip-Hop.
She enjoys serving others through volunteer work, including Chandler Recycles, camp counselor and choreographer for Lincoln County On-State Jr. Camp, First Baptist Youth summer mission trip, server for American Auxiliary Veterans’ Lunch, server for Jeremiah House fundraising dinner, painting volunteer for the American Legion building, Lincoln County Museum of Pioneer History’s Veteran’s Park Clean-Up, and speaker for Chandler High School’s Veteran’s Day Assembly.
Anna Grace Phillips is the daughter of Court Phillips and Julie Savig.
After graduation, she plans to attend Oklahoma State University for a degree in Elementary Education.
Phillips’ extracurricular activities include Business Professionals of America, where she has served as treasurer and president and competed on the Administrative Support Team at both the state and national levels.
Phillips is a four-year member of drama, where she served as treasurer and president of Thespian Troupe 1825 and received All-Star cast honors during regional one-act play competitions her junior and senior years.
She has also been active in cheerleading, Postponing Sexual Involvement, Positive Peers, Youth Action Health Leadership, Future Farmers of America, yearbook and golf.
Phillips was selected to serve on the BancFirst Student Board of Directors and was Chandler Lions Club “Lion of the Month” in August.
Her efforts have earned her an invitation to the CHS Academic Banquet for four years and an Academic Letter. She holds a GPA of 4.0 and academic honors include the National Honor Society and Oklahoma High School Honor Society.
Phillips’ community involvement includes packaging food for people in need with Bridging Hunger and Stamp out Starvation, raising money for the Lincoln County Relay for Life, Chandler Chamber’s Crawfish Boil, Hiland Dairy Ice Cream Festival, Adopt a Child for Christmas, Oklahoma Special Olympics and Lincoln County On-Stage Children’s Theatre.
