Two die in county crash

A woman from Paden and a man from Prague have died in a two-vehicle, head-on collision west of Prague in Lincoln County.

State Trooper Nathan Jackson, who investigated the collision, identified two who died as Lacey Collins, 38, of Paden and Norman Pyattet, 48 of Prague.

Jackson reported the collision occurred on U.S. 62 and Airport Road, approximately one mile west of Prague.

He said Pyatt was pronounced deceased on the scene by Miller EMS from injuries sustained in the collision. He was transported by the Medical Examiner to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.

Jackson said Collins was taken by Miller EMS to Prague Community Hospital and was pronounced deceased by medical professionals from the injuries sustained in the collision.

The trooper stated in his report that Pyatt was driving a 2015 Hyundai Accent eastbound U.S. 62 and Collins was driving a 2022 Mazda CX-5 westbound on U.S. 62. For an unknown reason, he said, the vehicle driven by Pyatt crossed the center line striking the car head on driven by Collins.

Pyatt was ejected from his vehicle, the trooper reported and Collins was pinned for approximately 10 minutes before she was extricated by the Prague Fire Department.

Jackson stated the condition of both drivers at the time of the collision is under investigation. He listed cause of the crash as left of center.

Seat belts were equipped in both vehicles, the trooper stated, and in use by Collins but not in use by Pyatt.

Jackson was assisted by Trooper Konner Dowell of Troop A, Trooper Francis Easton of Troop D, the Prague Fire and Police Departments, Miller EMS, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Oklahoma State Medical Examiner Investigator Amy Harryman.
