Wreaths Across Stroud is taking place this year on Sunday, December 15th at 1:30 p.m. at Stroud Cemetery. There will be a short program in remembrance of our veterans and then we will lay wreaths on each veteran’s grave. We ask all community members to come out and help us honor these men and women. We have around eight hundred veterans buried at our cemetery, so we are asking for your help in laying the wreaths. On Friday, December 12th we will be laying wreaths on the graves of our veterans in the two South Stroud cemeteries. We will also be honoring our Sac & Fox veterans this year. The Nation will be placing those wreaths in several area cemeteries. The American Legion Auxiliary and Town Talk sponsor this activity.

A special thank you to the Stroud Chamber of Commerce and the City of Stroud for the wonderful community parade that took place this past Saturday evening. It is an annual event and is always well attended. It’s a great way to kick off the holiday season in our community.
Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes to my mom to help her celebrate her 95th birthday this pastweek.Shealwaysenjoyshearing from her students who always have a little story to share from their days in English and French at Stroud High School. I tell everyone they should move to Stroud and drink lots of our water because we tend to have cornered the market on “long lifers,” especially if you happen to be a retired Stroud school teacher.
Town Talk wishes to express condolences to Debbie Acord and family in the death of her husband, Tom Acord. They are a longtime Chandler family and deeply involved in and loved by their community. Debbie does all of the signs for Town Talk including the veteran banners on Main Street. Town Talk has worked with Debbie for many years and our volunteers have adopted Debbie as one of our own. Our hearts are broken, and we remember the Acord family during this difficult time.
